Glossary of Terms
- Camera-Ready Artwork
- Camera-Ready Artwork is artwork, either printed or digital, that can be put on a negative without any additional typesetting or paste-up work. Once your artwork is put on a negative, it is converted to a plate for printing.
- Digital Submission
- If you have created a document exactly to your specifications, often we can take your file and send it directly to our printers. Legends Printing can open documents created in Adobe PageMaker and Quark Express. We also can open .esp, .psd, .tif, Adobe Acrobat .pdf, and Freehand documents. - Four-Color Process
- Four-Color Process, or CMYK Process, refers to the printing process of using four inks (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) to print full-color documents. By combining different percentages of each of these inks during printing, it is possible to attain millions of different colors.
- Spot Color
- Spot Color is a system of adding one or two colors to a document. Using a standardized set of colors (the Pantone System), a printer can lay down one or two specific colors at a lower cost than Four-Color Process.
- Typesetting
- Typesetting is creating documents, artworks, and various elements required to print a document. Legends Printing uses the most up-to-date versions of Adobe and Macromedia software to create beautiful, low-cost documents for your business or personal use.
